I am doing my graduations in Arts - English Literature, part of the course is English in India. We have this excellent Phonetics professor teaching us a part of English in India, which consitutes Phonetics, Semantics and English as a language, how it has developed etc etc.

Today we were talking about English and how it became a Universal Language...students came up with points like Easy to understand, lack of inflexions, Word order ... and he started with his explanations..

Word order with relation to the language means that words make sense in a sentence only when they are placed in the right position, and english is unique in the sense that words in a particular phrase can't be put in other way because then the meaning of the whole sentence changes...things like verb phrases, noun phrases, adverbial phrases make sense only when put in a particular order...

it is interesting to know so much about english and its universal nature, but with a lively professor it becomes all the more fun ..

Continued from my last post

As I was saying .. switched DEPARTMENTS, switched BOYFRIEND and now switching CAREERS...
switching career was till date the most difficult decision I've made.. kind of more into designing and stuff .. not that i hate management .. but designing was kind of somethin which i liked the most .. actually computer is wat i like the most .. but being in AIESEC i've exposed more to Management and not designing.

this switch in career came in after a lot of trouble faced by me in my designing career .. I was runnin around the whole world for a JOB.. but the companies demanded experience .. which i didn't have .. i just had a Diploma in computer animations and designing, which didn't mean much to the corporate world .. u have people with lot of experience in their designing careers and still not gettin a job .. and i didn't want to go for a RUN - OF - THE -MILL kinda job .. and so it made life worse ..

then i came across this Ad which said they needed somebody for the post of a MARKETING EXECUTIVE .. i applied for that one .. and they selected me there and then itself .. i was so happy .. the company is a merger of Hughes technologies and Escort Communications .. named as DirecWay Global Education .. as the name suggests it is related to Education (www.DWGE.com) and so right now .. Miss Aditi is working with an MNC as a Marketing Executive - which is part - time right now .. wil be a full time job once i complete my graduations .. and then i am plannin to do a management course in Marketing from one of those IIM's .. lets c if this one works out or not ..

May be i will go in for a good course in designing as well after this management thingy .. lets c .. till then i will be an old female .. :P

switched BOYFREIND .. and i think i have mentioned about it before as well .. he kind of thinks I am crazy and wierd .. which i had told him earlier as well .. but then he didn't want to accept it .... kind of .. living a new life with him .. a different person .. a different experience ..

i guess .. Back to LIFE now suits my experiences ..

I have decided to switch my careers - from designing to management.. wil have to work a lot on this front but i think i will be more successful in this field than the previous one ..
